Bears Test Positive for Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza
Jan 7, 2023Three grizzly bears in the state of Montana have tested positive for highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI). The bears were in poor condition and subsequently euthanized. The bears, which are the first documented cases of HPAI in grizzlies, likely acquired the virus from consuming infected birds.
